SHOC Conference: Carbon free shipping and shipping carbon – contracts in context

The green transition is affecting all actors in the shipping industry. The main challenge is to reduce carbon emissions and this challenge has been taken up through regulatory initiatives both at the EU level and at the international level. The conference focuses on the implementation of these initiatives at the contractual level, i.e. adaption of charter parties to comply with the EEXI (Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index) and the CII (Carbon Intensity Index) and the proposed extension of the EU Emission Trading System (ETS) to cover also the maritime sector. The conference also deals with derived issues on ocean carbon storage and contracts for the shipment of carbon.

Confirmed speakers include Prof. Stephen Girvin, NUS, Prof. Simon Baughen, Swansea University, Prof. Michael Tsimplis, University of Hong Kong, Prof. Ellen Eftestøl, University of Helsinki.

The conference is free of charge and a participation certificate can be obtained.
