Team membership and committee responsibilities
- The International Law Moot Court Team will elect a Student Committee to oversee the running of the society and the conduct of internal moots. The Committee will comprise a President, a Vice-President, and an additional number of necessary Secretarial roles (for example External Coordinator, Internal Coordinator, Orientation & Integration Officer, Communications Officer, Constitution Drafting Officer). The Committee will work in tandem with an Staff Liaison member who will be a Copenhagen University Law Faculty staff member. The Staff Liaison member will serve for a maximum of three years after which a new liaison will be appointed.
- The Committee will be elected at an inaugural meeting of the society. Notice of the date, time and location of the meeting will be given on the IL Moot Team webpage. The meeting (and subsequent membership of the society, and entrance to mooting competitions) is open to all Copenhagen University students who have (or are) enrolled on the Bachelor's level course in International Law, or who are enrolled on a similar Masters level course in International Law. The Committee may decide to charge each member a small annual membership fee which will be managed by a duly elected Treasurer. The Committee will also liaise with law firms and practitioners to help arrange sponsorship for the moot team and for the internal and external competitions.
- The IL Moot Team Committee will be responsible for drafting a Constitution. The Committee will also be responsible for the general administration of the competitions. Committee members may act as Clerk for the internal competition moots. In circumstances where Committee members also wish to compete in the internal competition, notice should be given in advance. Competing members will take no part in drafting the moot problems or in judging competitions. An exception will be made for the initial practice round where competing members may Clerk or Judge any moot.
- The Committee, in tandem with the Staff Liaison member, will be responsible for the selection of moot teams to enter external competitions. Regard will be given to each mooter's performance in the internal competition. The Committee will also liaise with suitably experienced practitioners in order to invite Judges for the latter rounds of the internal competition.
