Cultivating Ecosystem – Central European Advanced Therapy and Immunology Centre (CREATIC)

CREATIC aims to translate research and innovation into clinical practice to diagnose and treat patients suitable for Advanced Therapy Medical Products (ATMP). CREATIC combines Science, Technology & Medicine knowledge with Social Science and Humanities disciplines to create a multidisciplinary approach covering the whole ATMP life cycle.

CREATIC is Horizon Europe Teaming for Excellence project, which focuses on undiagnosed untreatable rare diseases, paediatric patients with high-risk tumours, and adult cancer patients suitable for ATMP. The overall aim is to translate research and innovation in cell and gene therapies into clinical practice for the benefit of patients. A multidisciplinary approach will enable the CREATIC centre to navigate and be a leading actor in the paradigm shift from drug development for larger patient groups to individualized treatment strategies - an approach which falls outside the scope and interests of the traditional pharmaceutical industry.

The University of Copenhagen brings expertise in SSH, biomedical law, ethics, and data protection. UCPH will also coordinate an international ecosystem of collaborating institutions, organise stakeholder engagement and knowledge valorisation as well as establish a legally supported responsible research innovation (RRI) framework.
