N2 - The paper explores the Scandinavian model of administrative contracts from a historical, comparative, and doctrinal perspective. The paper’s main hypothesis is that the private/public law dichotomy obstructs the development of a sound doctrine of administrative contracts. As an alternative, the paper introduces an integrative approach that allows jurists to disregard the private/public law divide. The paper argues that this approach may enhance the understanding of the legal environment enclosing administrative contracts under Scandinavian law and, perhaps, in other jurisdictions too.
