Julie Jarland is a PhD student at the JustSites project. She holds a Master’s degree in Criminology from the University of Oslo. Her research focuses on the intersections of criminal justice and armed conflict. Julie is also employed in a secondary position at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) until the end of 2020.

PhD student with the The Global Sites of International Criminal Justice (JustSites) project.
The PhD project examines the impact of the ICC on conflict related violence by looking beyond the courts own intervention, to its influence on local and national justice processes. It combines statistical analysis at the global level with a qualitative case study focusing on the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
