New Visiting Researcher at iCourts - Erdem ASIL

Public Prosecutor Erdem ASIL is a PhD candidate in public international law at Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, Türkiye. He holds degrees from Ankara University Faculty of Law (LL.B.) and Ankara University National Center for the Sea and Maritime Law-DEHUKAM (LL.M.).

Erdem ASIL's research interests include the law of the sea, maritime security law, and international criminal law. His recently published book is entitled "Criminal Threats to Maritime Security'', and he published a research article ''Evaluation of Measures to Prevent the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction Under the Principles Governing the Law of the Sea''.

In connection with maritime security law, he served as a lecturer in the Maritime Security Law course held at NATO MARSEC COE between April 1 and 5, 2024.

Since Erdem ASIL is entitled to an Erasmus+ scholarship, he will be a visiting researcher at iCourts from June 17 to June 30, 2024.
