New PhD student at iCourts - Marie Thøgersen
Marie Thøgersen holds a BA (2018) and an MA (2020) in Law from Aarhus University. During her studies, she has inter alia worked as a Max Sørensen Research Fellow in human rights law, as an intern at the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the UN in Geneva, and as a legal assistant at Dignity, Danish Institute against Torture. Since 2020, she has been employed as Head of Section in The Ministry of Immigration and Integration. Moreover, she has taught ‘Fundamental Rights of the Individual’ at the Faculty of Law, UCPH, since 2021.
Marie’s PhD project will be supervised by Astrid Kjeldgaard-Pedersen and co-supervised by Marc Schack, Assistant Professor at the Institute for Military Operations, Royal Danish Defence College. Her research revolves around the application of international law in cyberspace. She will investigate how international law limits and enables States to respond to cyberattacks conducted by ostensibly non-State actors.
