AI, Law and Public Administration: Insights across Domains and Disciplines

The Nordic Asylum Law & Data Lab welcomes you to a public lecture and roundtable debate on the growing use of artificial intelligence in public decision making.

The session will commence with a public lecture from leading researcher in computational legal research, Associate Professor Nikolaos Aletras, University of Sheffield, entitled ‘How can we Improve Explanation Faithfulness in Law via Natural Language Processing (NLP)?, with discussant Henrik Palmer Olsen, Professor of Jurisprudence, iCourts, University of Copenhagen.

This will be followed by a roundtable debate that brings together expertise from law and computer science to discuss the use of AI in public administration, featuring Søren Juul Jørgensen, Fellow, Centre for Human Rights and International Justice, Stanford University as chair, and accompanied by Thomas Troels Hildebrandt, Professor of Software Engineering, Department of Computer Science University of Copenhagen; Naja L. Holten Møller, Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen; and Thomas B. Moeslund, Professor, Institute for Architecture and Media Technology, Aalborg University.

The keynote takes place from 13:00 – 14:00 and the panel debate from 14:00 - 15:30. All are welcome to attend, and registration is not required.
