Breakfast Briefing with Marc Schack and Astrid Kjeldgaard-Pedersen
International Law and the Conflict in Ukraine
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine raises a host of questions of international law. For example:
- Is ‘humanitarian intervention’ lawful?
- Are war crimes being committed?
- How can we ensure that the relevant individuals are held accountable for international crimes, including the crime of aggression?
- What can/will the International Court of Justice do?
- Does Denmark become a party to the conflict by supplying weapons to Ukraine?
- Are members of the ‘Ukrainian IT Army’ operating from Danish territory a legitimate target for Russia?
At the moment, the situation - and the legal questions it gives rise to - changes every day. The speakers will address the most relevant issues on March 24th.
