Summer courses

You can apply at the summer courses, if you:

• have passed your Bachelor's degree programme or have completed three years of full-time study at university level (equal of 180 ECTS) and
• meet the language requirements.

Language requirements

• Courses in English: Scandinavian applicants (including Danish applicants) must demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to at least B level. Applicants who have passed a Bachelor and/or Master's degree in English must document that their Bachelor and/or Master's degree is taught in English. All other applicants must pass the International English Language Testing System (IELTS/Academic) with a minimum score of 6.5 or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 560 for paper test and 83 of the internet-based text. Recommended prerequisites

Before you apply for admission to a course, we recommend that you read the course descriptions carefully and consider whether you will be able to follow the teachings. All our courses require that you have knowledge of:

• legal methods to find, acquire and use relevant sources in the legal assessment
• legal information and literature searches
• organisation of legal systems

If you do not, you must be prepared to read up outside of  the classroom, as it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the prerequisites for being able to keep up. There is no time during class to answer questions, that you are expected to know beforehand.

We also recommend that you are familiar with reading academic textbooks in English.

There are up to 48 seats on each summer course, and they are distributed on the basis of the following principles:

1. Students at the Faculty's master's degree programmes who sign up for summer courses during the winter registration periods.
2. Exchange and guest students from foreign universities. Applicants are prioritised according to the time of application.
3. Students enrolled at the Faculty's master's degree programmes who sign up during the registration period 15 May to 1 June.
4. Any unfilled places are allocated single-subject and credit students. Applicants are prioritised according to the time of application.

Tuition fee for participation in the summer courses in 2019 depend upon applicant category:

The tuition fee covers participation in the course, including examination.

Teaching materials

The cost of purchasing teaching materials varies from course to course. You can see if you are expected to purchase books for the course in the course description. Other materials can often be downloaded for free as an e-resources on campus.

Visa

Visa is only necessary for participants who do not a citizen of an EU/EEA country. Find out whether you need a visa. We recommend that you start the application process as soon as you are admitted to the course. Please note that the individual Embassy determines the fees and documentation requirements.

Transport and accommodation

All participants are responsible for their own transport and accommodation. Expenses are covered by the participant. You may want to use one of the following online portals to find accommodation:

Scholarships

The faculty does not offer scholarships to incoming students or provide exemption from payment of tuition fees.
