1 - 21 June 2025

Dr. Latika Choudhary is an academic specializing in patent law and biotechnology, with a strong foundation built at some of India’s premier law schools. She successfully defended her doctoral thesis in April 2023, titled “Patent on Life Forms: Critical Analysis and Evaluation of Aspects & Legal Framework Related to Gene Patenting,” which critically examines the evolving intersection of intellectual property rights and genetic innovation. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the School of Law, UPES, India, Dr. Choudhary is deeply committed to both teaching and research. She embraces a constructivist pedagogy, encouraging students to actively engage with legal problems and discover solutions through guided inquiry rather than passive reception. Her educational philosophy draws inspiration from the adage, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime,” reflecting her belief in empowering students with lifelong analytical skills rather than temporary answers.

As a passionate researcher, Dr. Choudhary has contributed to the field through few credible publications and continues to explore the ethical, legal and societal implications of life sciences and AI-driven innovation. Her long-term aspiration is to become a thought leader in the field of life laws, known not only for her academic rigor but also for making meaningful contributions to the broader legal discourse. Outside of her academic life, Dr. Choudhary is an ardent animal lover who enjoys spending her leisure time with her three dogs and one cat, finding in them a source of joy, balance and inspiration.
