New postdoc at CeBIL - Dr. Sebastian Porsdam Mann
We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Sebastian Porsdam Mann to the Center for Advanced Studies in Bioscience Innovation Law (CeBIL) at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Law!
Sebastian is a bioethicist and legal scholar. Following military service, he was educated in philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, where he also obtained his first PhD in neuroethics. Sebastian has held postdoctoral positions in bioethics at Harvard Medical School and, as Carlsberg Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, at the Universities of Copenhagen and Oxford, and is completing a second doctorate in international human rights law at the Faculty of Law, Oxford.
His research interests span cognitive enhancement, data and blockchain ethics, the human right to science, and ethical and legal implications of personalised large language models.
Sebastian is currently working on a monograph on the history and theory of the human right to science and on several works on the practical use of personalised large language models for scholarship and associated normative and regulatory questions. Sebastian plans to focus on these topics, as well as on the use of blockchain technology for prosenting and demonstrated consent, in the near future. Outside of academia, Sebastian is an avid strength and conditioning athlete and has competed in volleyball and Taekwondo.
