Zhengmin has a background in EU and Chinese law, specifically focus on EU business law and the governance of data technologies and its impact on human rights. After graduating from Lund University, she worked as a research assistant at the faculty of law at Lund University. Zhengmin’s research interest lies in the impact of data technologies on economic development and fundamental rights. At CeBIL, she will further explore the governance of the secondary use of health data. As for her PhD project, she will work on how secondary use of health data can be promoted while maintaining a proper level of data protection for data subjects. She plans to exam the risks exposed from data sharing policies and the establishment of health data hubs, such as European Health Data Space. Based on the risks, she will further check how the current data sharing proposals might be challenged, compared to traditional requirements of consent for using data. Furthermore, she will also check if data subjects’ data rights will be affected by backdrop.
