New visitor at CeBIL - Marzia Maria Fede
1 October - 30 November 2022
I’m Marzia Maria Fede, from Italy. I studied law at the University of Camerino and spent an abroad stay in Oxford during my last year of university. Since 2020 I have been a PhD student at the University of Macerata, Italy, where I am involved in research in forensic medicine, and I’m contributing to the activity in the forensic toxicology laboratory of which my professor is the administrator. Besides my doctoral thesis, I am working in a law firm focusing on criminal law and medical liability, waiting to take the bar exam.
My PhD research project focuses on the issue of liability in the company workplace in light of the pandemic caused by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. I am developing the thesis on the civil and criminal liability of the employer in case of injury to the employee in the workplace.
The aspect I would like to focus on is the crucial issue of data protection and treatment that, after the explosion of the health emergency related to the spread of Coronavirus, has become one of the most critical legal-interpretative nodes with the consequent need to balance the protection of health and privacy of people.
At CeBIL, I would like to explore the data protection regulations to which multinationals must conform. I believe that the interdisciplinary approach I will find at the research centre will be beneficial for my research and an exciting way of cultural exchange and comparison.
