Asian week at CeBIL
On August 25th, CeBIL researchers met with Prof. Dr. Hisashi Urushihara and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azusa Hara, both from the Division of Drug Development & Regulatory Science at Keio University, Tokyo. Prof. Urushihara and Hara visited CeBIL to discuss research agendas and potential future collaborations.
Earlier this week, on August 22nd and 23rd, CeBIL Director Prof. Dr. Timo Minssen and PostDoc Dr. Louise C. Druedahl gave virtual presentations at an international conference on IoMT, Healthcare AI and ELSI in Seoul (South Korea) . Timo’s presentation discussed the practical implementation of the WHO’s six guiding principles for ethics and governance of AI in healthcare, that Timo Minssen has co-developed, followed by a panel debate on healthcare implication of AI. Louise talked about an empirical study on public perceptions of nanomedicine in Denmark that Louise and Timo currently work on.
They are currently collaborating with Yonsei University on a multi-national survey on public perceptions of nanomedicine with an aim to propose international guidance on the area. The conference was hosted by researchers from the College of Medicine at Yonsei University in South Korea. Other conference topics included medical devices, use of healthcare data for AI research, and more.
The conference also provided excellent information and inspiration for Louise C. Druedahl who will start collaboration with Prof. Timo Minssen and Assoc. Prof. Marcelo C. Compagnucci on the CLASSICA project at CeBIL from September focusing on the regulation of AI-based medical devices.
