Introduction to the area, courses offered, master thesis program and the possibility of participating in an international maritime moot court competition. The seminar is hosted by KU researchers in collaboration with partners from leading shipping law firms, who will offer insights into carrier opportunities.
The Shipping Palette for Students
CEPRI/SHOC offers the following ‘Palette’ of activities and events for students interested in Shipping and Ocean Law.
1. Spring: Introductory coffee meeting (English) at the Law Faculty
2. September: Shipping Lab (Dan/Eng).
We offer micro courses for students interested in writing a master thesis in Shipping and Ocean law, whether you are following one of the ordinary courses. Your main supervisor will be a KU researcher, and we offer supervision sessions with external partners. You can also write your thesis in the spring. Danske Maritime offers a prize for the best maritime thesis.
3. The Autumn: Courses (Danish/English)
In the autumn, you have the opportunity to follow courses in ‘Shipping Contracts and Liability’ (Danish) and ‘Law of the Sea’ (English).
4. End of December: Apply for participation in international Moot Court competition (English)
Towards the end of the year, you have the opportunity to apply for participation in an international moot court competition in shipping law. On the basis of your applications, we set a team for the competition. It is possible to get credits for participation.
5. Spring the following year: getting ready for the Moot Court competition (English)
In the spring, we offer coaching for the moot court competition. Coaching is primarily conducted by external partners, specialized in shipping law and with procedural experience.
