1999 Ph.D. Based on a thesis on the following subject-matter: "The Principle of Equal Treatment of Tenderers in EU Public Procurement Law". The thesis led to the award of the Spar Nord Foundations Research Prize 2000. The prize is awarded to a researcher at Aalborg University who has concluded a particularly excellent research project at the University. The prize winner is selected by a committee of professors and receives 250.000 DKK for further research.

Steen Treumer has published widely on public procurement law including about 25 international publications on public procurement law and primarily in leading European reviews. As mentioned above my Ph.D.-thesis concerned the principle of equal treatment of tenderers in E.C. Public Procurement Law.
Research and project management
Steen Treumer has extensive and varied experience with research and project management as Head of Department and as individual researcher.
Appointed as Assistant Editor of the international journal "Public Procurement Law Review" in 2006.
Co-editor of the international book series European Procurement Law Series, DJØF Publishing together with Professor Roberto Caranta, University of Turin, Italy (established in 2009)
Other relevant activities
Organizer of more than 30 international conferences and seminars on EU law including about 10 on public procurement (the latter from 1993 until now).
Conference programme director on the global public procurement conferences Public Procurement: Global Revolution IV and V together with Professor Sue Arrowsmith, University of Nottingham. The latter conference took place September 2010 and was hosted by the University of Copenhagen.
Chairman of the Danish Association for Public Procurement Law.
Member of the Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement
Has given numerous lectures in international public procurement conferences in Europe and several guest lectures at universities
Consultancy and training on public procurement. Steen Treumer has acted as a legal consultant in several procurement cases pending before The Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement and before the ordinary Danish courts and occassionally in cases abroad.
