The topic of Jie's PhD project is “End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Systems in China and the EU: a Comparative Perspective.” This project concerns the end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) recycling system and the analysis of environmental governance instruments in the EU and China. Specifically, her project encompasses two folds. On the one hand, from the level of international law, she looks into the history of international environmental law and bridges the international conventions and national laws. On the other hand, i.e., from the national law perspective, she broods over the EU laws as well as Chinese laws. In Short, her research project aims to examine the practice of environmental governance instruments under the ELV recycling systems in the EU and China and bring more legal perspectives to the relevant academic research around the ELV recycling systems.
