CeBIL Director, Timo Minssen, selected as European Lead of Stakeholder Consortium of Social Science Research Centres at Global AMR R&D Hub, BMBF, Berlin The Board of the Global AMR R&D Hub has selected the “International Network for AMR Social Science (INAMRSS)” to be part of the Global AMR R&D Hub’s Stakeholder Group. The hub is an initiative funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Initially, the secretariat of the Global AMR R&D Hub will be based in Berlin, at the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF). The BMBF will provide up to 500 million euros over the next ten years towards research to combat antimicrobial resistance. The International Network for AMR Social Science (INAMRSS) will be led by the Canadian Prof. Steven J. Hoffman, whereas CeBIL Director Prof. Timo Minssen will lead the European group and US Prof. Kevin Outterson the North American group. The key goal of the network is to use this platform to advocate for social science research with the AMR R&D Hub by demonstrating the value that the network's perspective brings to the table. The goal is to be more efficient and inclusive rather than having multiple centers competing for a few slots. We have existing partnerships among our research centers and hope to expand such collaboration with new colleagues. We recognize our membership will need to expand, especially to areas of the world not currently represented, and are eager to do so in an open and transparent manner.
