I am a PhD candidate at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL) where I study pull incentives for antibiotic innovation.

The title of my PhD project is:

The term of patent protection or regulatory exclusivity as an innovation lever

An economically informed legal analysis of the efficiency of using (non-transferable and/or transferable) patent extension or regulatory exclusivity extension to incentivize the development of new antibiotics in Europe

The research question which I seek to answer is:

To what extent is (non-transferable and/or transferable) patent extension or regulatory exclusivity extension an efficient policy instrument for incentivizing the development of new antibiotics in Europe?

Primary fields of research

  • Patent law
  • SPC legislation
  • Pharmaceutical regulatory exclusivities
  • Public procurement of antibiotics
