analysis of the staging of the coronation festivities of Christian 4. in 1596, based on the Lutheran conception of the Pope and the Turk as respectively Antichrist and God's scourge/the Devil's instrument, which through a combination og performativity and historicity inscribes the event in a European ritualized and theatricalized festival culture.
