Would you like to participate in one of our research projects?

Each semester the Greenhouse picks a number of themes about sustainability and offers the students to research within. Each theme constitutes the framework for a research project e.g. “food waste” or “recycling” in which the students can choose the angle of how they want to work with the project – depending on the interests of the student and academic background. The project will take place as one large study group where students from different faculties, institutes and universities collaborate about the research. The Greenhouse thus facilitates a structured project period for the students throughout the semester centered on the main theme of the project.

Working with innovation and entrepreneurship within the field of sustainability encourages interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary thinking, which the students have an opportunity to pursue and practice through one of the Greenhouse’s project.

Based on the students’ choice of theme/sub-theme, and if anyone is participating through an ECTS-rewarding course, the students are expected to form sub-groups across disciplines. During the brainstorm process, finding sub-themes and working with the project the students are supposed to work together and discuss with each other, but researchers and practitioners from the private and public sector will also be available for sparring, guidance etc.

The Greenhouse announces each project, including project description, deadline for registration and registration link on this website and Facebook. Each project has a limited numbers of seats and therefore, you must write shortly your motivation for participating in the project.

Please note, that if you want to participate in one of the Greenhouse projects through an ECTS-rewarding course, you must both register for the respective Greenhouse project on this website AND register for the ETCS-course through the normal course enrolment at your university.

ECTS-rewarding participation
Students who would like to participate in one of the Greenhouse projects through an ECTS-rewarding course has various options.

For students at the Faculty of Law
For students at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, it is possible to write a report/an article within the theme of one of the projects in the Greenhouse and get ECTS for the written contribution. This is possible through the following courses: written project, academic internship, bachelor dissertation or master thesis. Read more about the courses in the course catalog.

It is also possible to choose a course that has written submission as examination form and include one of the Greenhouse's projects as part of the exam submission. Such courses are e.g., "Welfare Law - Creative legal writing", "How to Start a Start-up: the law of start-ups", "Blockchain and New Technologies in Corporate and Capital Market Law". The advantage of combining a normal ECTS-rewarding course with a simultaneous participation in one of the Greenhouse's projects is that the student gets the opportunity to be part of an academic study group and benefit from ongoing interdisciplinary inspiration, sparring, guidance, etc.

You can see more about your options for ECTS-awarding participation in this Fact sheet.
