Visiting researcher at CECS - Tomas Midttun Tobiassen

Tomas Midttun Tobiassen is a PhD Candidate in Law at the Department of Public and International Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo (Norway). He will be visiting CECS for September and October. His dissertation is on the interpretation and legal content of some of the new human rights provisions amended into the Norwegian Constitution in 2014. During his stay at CECS, he hopes inter alia to study how Danish courts interpret and apply the European Convention of Human Rights and some aspects of the Danish Constitution.

 He holds a BA and MA in Philosophy from the University of Oslo, and a BA and MA in Law from the same university. Before starting down the path for a PhD, he worked for three years as an associate/attorney (advokatfullmektig/advokat) for the Attorney General’s Office for Civil Affairs in Norway (Regjeringsadvokaten). Previously, he has been a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School and, closer to home, PluriCourts (University of Oslo).
