The article examines the regulatory privacy landscape applicable to genomic databases in Denmark. It explores the complex web of laws and administrative rules, which includes both data protection law, research ethics regulation and patients’ rights. The article identifies and discusses the privacy gaps and concerns in light of current developments in genetic research with widespread use of Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) techniques.
