Centre Director, Professor Mikael Madsen, iCourts, the Danish National Research Foundation's Centre of Excellence for International Courts, University of Copenhagen, local host of the ICON-S 2017 Conference, gave his opening remarks at the Opening Ceremony at Radisson Blu Scandinavia.

Professor Bryan Stevenson, the Equal Justice Initiative, New York University, delivered the keynote address.

Plenary Session I: Global Economic Justice with Professor Bhupinder Chimni, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Professor Katharina Pistor, Columbia Law School, Professor Joseph H.H. Weiler, New York University and Moderator, Professor Erika De Wet, University of Pretoria took place on Day 1, 5 July 2017.

The local host iCourts, the Danish National Research Foundation's Centre of Excellence for International Courts and The Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen opened the new building at South Campus, Copenhagen for the many conference participants.

More than 30 law student volunteers and Faculty student assistents were ready to help the panel sessions.

199 panel sessions took place during the conference.

Dean Jacob Graff Nielsen, The Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, gave his welcome remarks in the Atrium.

Seven publishing companies had stands at the ICON-S 2017 Conference: Cambridge University Press, Edward Elgar, Eleven, Hans Reitzel, Hart, Nomos and Oxford University Press.
