My research focuses on regulatory arbitrage and "shadow banking" within the global and European regulation of banks and life insurance undertakings. The purpose is especially to assess whether, inter alia, credit risk and systemic risk are adequately and consistently addressed.

My overall research question is whether the regulation of life insurance undertakings addresses shadow banking, including securities financing transactions, or if it allows life insurance undertakings to function as shadow banks.
