In CEVIA, research related to the maritime sector covers both maritime law and international law of the sea, including topics related to the offshore industry. As to maritime law, areas of particular focus are liability issues with regard to bills of lading and charter parties as well as liability questions with regard to third parties. Research within international law of the sea includes amongst other topics questions of state liability with regard to possible territorial advances in the Arctic area. In addition, research is being carried out within the area of transport law, in particular with regard to multimodal transports and contracts of logistics.
