Environmental Targets as Mere 'Crowd-Pleasers?' - Enforcement of Green Targets Through Ship Finance Contracts

Aslı's chapter titled "Environmental Targets as Mere 'Crowd-pleasers'? Enforcement of Green Targets through Ship Financing Contracts" concerns contractual instruments that enable the push of green-adherent commercial behaviour and the incentives to do so from the perspective of the ship finance sector. It, thus, investigates the enforcement of environmental targets through green financing contracts in light of environmental liability. The chapter argues that these targets are achievable if they are genuinely considered to go beyond being mere 'crowd-pleasers’ and that there are applicable legal tools to ensure and effectuate such achievement.
