CEPRI researcher selected for prestigious UCPH Forward programme
Dr Sorcha MacLeod, Marie Curie Fellow and Associate Professor in CEPRI, has been selected to participate in the prestigious UCPH Forward programme 2020-21. This elite programme is designed to support UCPH researchers who demonstrate ‘extraordinary scholarly excellence, creativity, talent, motivation, and the courage to bridge disciplines.’ It is also intended to build inter-disciplinary networks among the participants, and between participants and senior research leaders at UCPH. Over the course of the year, Dr MacLeod will meet regularly with UCPH Forward participants, engage with research leaders, and will develop a milestone plan setting out her strategy for applying for major international funding such as European Research Grants, publishing, inter-disciplinary collaborations, outreach activities, as well as achieving personal professional goals. She will also be trained in a variety of skills crucial for leading future research projects, including international fundraising, entrepreneurship, research management, and leadership.
Dr MacLeod’s EU-funded Marie Curie RESpECT project which assesses the effectiveness of current international and national regulatory and policy frameworks that deal with Private Security Company-related human rights violations against marginalised groups, runs until 2022. The UCPH Forward programme will enhance Dr MacLeod’s research profile and enrich the RESpECT project, while enabling her to effectively plan ambitious future research projects on private governance of human rights and other public goods that align with CEPRI’s aims.
