Leonard Floryan is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL), Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. Against the background of the antimicrobial resistance crisis, his research explores the legal implications of push and pull incentives for stimulating research and development of new antibiotics. The project is supervised by Assoc. Prof. Sven Bostyn.

Prior to undertaking the PhD, Leonard worked as a patent attorney trainee in a Copenhagen-based patent firm. He was involved in patent drafting, prosecution, and opposition and handled freedom-to-operate analyses and patentability assessments.

Leonard holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Copenhagen (2013), a MSc in Chemistry from ETH Zurich (2016), and a MSc in Interdisciplinary Sciences (Molecular Biology and Chemistry) from ETH Zurich (2018).
