New Visitor at iCourts Pier Francesco Pompeo

Pier Francesco Pompeo is specialized in Public International Law from the department of Law at the University of Milan. He is co-founder of the DUIT centre for European Law where he is also a researcher, focusing his work on anti-discrimination case law and policies.

He is visiting iCourts in August to conduct research and write a draft for a PhD project based on his Master’s Thesis on the Doctrine of Equivalent Protection. In his LLM studies, he has focused on the legal aspects of the Doctrine and specifically on how it was applied by the European Court of Human Rights to cases involving European Union Law, in light of the perspective EU-accession to the ECHR. Now, he is broadening the scope of his work with a more interdisciplinary approach that takes Equivalent Protection’s sociological and theoretical implications into account, stressing how it has shaped the relationship between the two European Supranational Courts and its relevance in the case law of other International Courts.
