New visitor at iCourts – Or Bassok

24 November – 27 November 2015

Or Bassok is a Max Weber postdoctoral fellow at the European University Institute. He earned his doctorate at Yale Law School and was a Robina Human Rights fellow at Yale, a Tikvah fellow at New York University and a Baldy postdoctoral fellow at SUNY Buffalo Law School. His work has focused on two main issues: constitutional identities and the institutional legitimacy of courts. One of his main recent arguments is that the American Supreme Court cannot both determine American constitutional identity and fulfil the function of a legal expert. At the EUI, he is currently learning and researching European constitutional law.
