Mikkel Jarle Christensen employed as Postdoc

The Faculty welcomes Mikkel Jarle Christensen who has been employed as Postdoc at the Faculty of Law as of 1 February 2013.

Mikkel Jarle ChristensenThe research project "Bringing Europe to Justice" takes a critical historical and sociological look at the battle to define the new European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO). Through interviews and field studies the research will supply a pioneering study of the the professional, regional and national alliances behind the contest to define the EU’s judicial collaborations and the more specific efforts to create a European prosecution. Legitimised as a response to Europeanisation and the globalisation of crime, the effort to construct the world’s very first supranational prosecution has potential impact far beyond the boundaries of Europe.

The research project is financed by the UCPH's 2016 funds in collaboration between the collective research project Europe and New Global Challenges (EuroChallenge) and the The Danish National Research Foundation's Centre of Excellence for International Courts, iCourts.
Mikkel Jarle Christensen holds a MA from the Department of Philosophy and History of Ideas, Aarhus University, and a PhD from the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. He has previously done research on the historical battles to define the Danish police and prosecution.

Mikkel will be physically located in iCourts, office 02-1-08.
