New Visitor at iCourts - Wiebe Hommes
Wiebe Hommes is a PhD Candidate at the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance. His doctoral project, a legal-historical work, examines the reception history of the ECHR in the Netherlands during the period of 1945 until the present. In doing so, it seeks to shed light on the breakthrough and changing meaning of European human rights and the interaction between the European and national legal spheres.
His research interest include the history of human rights, the role of law in European (dis)integration, transnational networks, constitutional identity and the history and narratives of European integration.
Wiebe holds an LLM in European Union Law and a MA in History from the University of Amsterdam, as well as an BA (cum laude) in history and an LLB in Dutch law from the same university.
