Federica Cristani is Visiting Professor in the Jean Monnet Module “Foreign Policy of EU” at the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ukraine. She is also co-editor of the ENTER policy brief series - an output of the COST Action CA17119 - EU Foreign Policy Facing New Realities: Perceptions, Contestation, Communication and Relations.
Her current research project investigates whether – and to what extent – a multi-actor governance system for investment protection can be designed in the sub-regional context of the Visegrád Four countries (Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic) with(in) the European Union legal and policy framework.
In 2019 and early 2020, Federica was SAIA Visiting Researcher under the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University and Think Visegrad Non-V4 Expert Fellow at the Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association in Bratislava, Slovakia. Before coming to Bratislava, she was Post-doctoral researcher at the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern, Switzerland. Federica holds a PhD (together with the certificate of Doctor Europaeus) in public international law and a Degree in law from the University of Verona, Italy.
Her main research interests include international investment law, international economic law and cybersecurity of foreign investment.
