New visitor at iCourts - Yuliya Chernykh

Yuliya Chernykh is a Ph.D. Research Fellow in the Department of Private Law at the University of Oslo, where she is working on a doctoral thesis on contract interpretation in investment treaty arbitration. Yuliya’s research focuses on the intersection between private international law and public international law and, more broadly, on international dispute settlement. She publishes in the fields of public international law, international arbitration, international commercial law and legal history.
Yuliya graduated from Stockholm University (LLM in International Commercial Arbitration summa cum laude) and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (LLB summa cum laude). She has a postgraduate diploma in International Trade Law from the joint program organised by the University of Turin and the University Institute of European Studies (Italy) in cooperation with the ILO International Training Center and UNCITRAL.
Prior to turning to academia, Yuliya acted as arbitrator, as expert and as counsel in international arbitration proceedings under a number of European and Asian arbitration rules. She is Chartered Arbitrator (Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK) as of 2013. Yuliya is admitted to Ukrainian Bar (as advocate) and to Norwegian Bar (as a foreign counsel to practice private international law and Ukrainian law).
