New visitor at iCourts - Yannick Ganne
16 - 26 September 2018
Yannick Ganne, LERU Exchange PhD Student, University of Strasbourg, France, is visiting iCourts 16 September - 26 September 2018.
Yannick Ganne is a PhD student in legal studies at the University of Strasbourg School of Law. He holds an undergraduate degree from Sciences Po in Strasbourg (Public administration) and a research MA in public law. He also studied for one year at Boston College (Political science). He was a visiting researcher at the American Bar Foundation in Chicago (Spring 2015) and at the Center for the Study of Law and Society at the University of California in Berkeley (2016-2017).
His research interests are related to the epistemology of law and to the social scientific study of legal scholarship. His dissertation is about sociolegal research in the US from Legal Realism in the 1920-30s to more contemporary research perspectives. In particular, he focuses on new movements (New Legal Realism, Empirical Legal Studies) that use social scientific methods while remaining part of legal scholarship.
The aim of Yannick’s stay in Copenhagen is to learn more about the Scandinavian version of Legal Realism. His aim is also to meet with legal researchers in Denmark in order to be acquainted, as much as possible, with Danish contemporary research perspectives (sociolegal, doctrinal, comparative…) and Danish legal scholarship.
