New visitor at iCourts - Obonye Jonas

Obonye Jonas is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law at the University of Botswana. He is also a private legal practitioner in Botswana. He holds an LL.B degree from the University of Botswana and an LL.M degree from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He is currently registered as a PhD candidate at the School of Law of the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. His PhD thesis investigates the role and significance of amici curiae before the interpretive organs of the African human rights system; namely the African Commission, the African Court, and the African Children’s Rights Committee. His research interests are on international human rights law, with specific focus on Africa. He has published a number of articles in internationally refereed journals in this area.
