New visitor at iCourts - Liana Muntean

Liana Muntean is a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham, working on the ‘Law and Language at the European Court of Justice’ project. For this project she focuses on the role of the Advocate General at the CJEU and on the impact of the 2004 EU enlargement (specifically the introduction of pivot languages at the CJEU) on the opinions of Advocates General.
Liana holds an LL.M. and a PhD in comparative constitutional law from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. She has previously worked as a lawyer for the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and has been involved in human rights research projects. Liana's areas of interest include comparative constitutional law and human rights law (the prohibition of torture in interrogations, fair trial rights, and conditions of detention).
