New visitor at iCourts - Shingirai Mtero

Ms Shingirai Mtero is a PhD candidate and Lecturer in the Department of Political and International Studies at Rhodes University, South Africa. Her teaching and research areas include, International Criminal Justice, International Peace and Security, Human Security & Development, African Peace and Security Architecture and African Feminism.
While she is at iCourts she will be working and presenting on the topic Rethinking the Rome Statute: The Unique case of the International Criminal Court and the African Court of Justice and Human Rights. It draws from her PhD research, which maps the shifts in norms and practices currently taking place in international criminal justice, due the increasingly embattled Africa/ICC relationship, and the African Unions proposal to establish a court of its own, which would have concurrent jurisdiction with the Rome Statute.
