‘Enforcing International Maritime Legislation on Air Pollution through UNCLOS’

This new book explores the scope and applicability of part XII of UNCLOS, relating to the enforcement of international maritime legislation on air pollution. It also studies enforcement though UNCLOS of the international regulatory measures on greenhouse gas for shipping which the UN’s International Maritime Organization (IMO) is set to adopt. Finally, the book examines whether future regulatory IMO prohibition on the use of fossil based marine fuels could be deemed the first accepted environmental norm of a jus cogens nature.
