Lunch seminar with Indira Rampersad & Anthony Gafoor

The Caribbean Court Of Justice And Regional Integration

The presentation focuses on the impact of the dynamics of politics, ethnicity, and class on the reluctance of the majority of Caribbean states to subscribe to the appellate jurisdiction of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ). It assesses the extent to which this reluctance impacts on the court’s capacity to foster regional integration.
Moreover, by a selection of cases, the presentation seeks to underscore whether the jurisprudence of the CCJ inadvertently alleviates or intensifies political, ethnic and class conflicts in the polity and society of these states which may further impact on the capacity of the court to advance the regional integration process.

All interested are welcome to attend. Registration is not necessary.
