The workshop will discuss the overall concept and the contributions for the Research Handbook on the International Court of Justice (ICJ), to be published by Elgar.

The ICJ is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations and fulfills a variety of functions within the system of global governance. The Court’s judgments and advisory opinions offer guidance to states and international organizations and influence the case-law of national, supranational and international courts and tribunals.

Professor Achilles Skordas, iCourts, has invited prominent international law scholars and practitioners to present their views on these matters. The workshop participants will exchange ideas and discuss the functions and role of the Court in the 21st century.

Registration by invitation only.

Abstracts will only be made available to book contributors.
