Conference on VAT Grouping and Cost-Sharing – a Critical and Constructive Perspective

You are hereby cordially invited to the one-day VAT conference on VAT grouping and cost-sharing, which will take place on 7 May 2019, at the University of Copenhagen.

Join us in the discussion on the current rules on VAT grouping and the cost-sharing VAT exemption in a critical and constructive academic setting. While the focus will be on the harmonized European VAT, lessons from other juridictions, namely Norway and the so-called «Modern VAT systems», Australia and New Zealand will be taken into consideration. At the conference numerous existing issues and problems with the two sets of rules are to be pointed out and also various measures to solve or counteract these problems are to be discussed among some of the most renowned professors and experts in VAT law in the world.

The conference is organized jointly by FIRE – Fiscal Relations Research Group, Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University, BI Norwegian Business School Oslo, and Lund University.

The conference is co-financed by the Nordic Tax Research Council.

The conference takes place at the Ceremonial Hall (Festsalen), University of Copenhagen, Main Building, Frue Plads 4, DK-1168 Copenhagen K, Denmark.

Please sign-up here no later than 1 May 2019 at 12.00. The conference fee is DKK 1,750 excluding VAT (25%). There is a reduced fee of DKK 500 excluding VAT for full-time academics. PhD students and university students participate free of charge. Certificate for participation in the conference can be issued on request. Please note that an early bird discount of 20% is granted on the conference fee, if you sign-up before 1 March 2019!

For your convenience, please note that you are also invited to the afternoon VAT/GST seminar on 6 May 2019, 15.00 – 17.00, with Senior Research Associate David White, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, on«VAT/GST Policy in the Age of Disruption: An Indo-Pacific Perspective». The seminar is held at South Campus at the University of Copenhagen. Participation is free of charge. Invitation is on its way.
