Current research

Response time (RT) is used in many areas of Psychology, such as Perception, Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, Medical Psychology and Attention Diagnostics. In RT experiments, theoretical predictions generally relate to unconditional RT performance: “How long did it take to find the correct solution to the problem?” Most studies, however, do some kind of data cleaning and, most importantly, exclude incorrect responses before data analysis. The result is a conditional measure, “How long did it take for the correct solution—if it was found?” Theory and empirical data, in turn, refer to different entities. In my research I investigate the implications of different models for RT and derive estimates of unconditional RT performance in the presence of incorrect responses. The results lay the foundation for the measurement of one of the most important dependent variables in many areas of Psychology and beyond.
