Copenhagen School
of Law and Governance

You are, as a student of cand.merc.jur. and cand.merc.pol. from Copenhagen Business School, guaranteed pre-approval of several different master's courses at the Faculty of Law.

This means that you no longer need to apply for pre-approval for the courses included in the programme, and credit transfer is guaranteed for these courses.

You have to inform the administration at your own faculty that you intend to follow courses at the Faculty of Law; and apply for a place on the course(s) you wish to follow, but the first step in the process has been cut out and thereby made it less difficult for you as a student.

A total of two places are reserved on each course for students who are included in the programme.

You must have passed your bachelor's degree before you can apply as a credit student at the Faculty of Law.

If you have any questions, please feel free to write to us at merit@jur.ku.dk

The application periods for credit students under Copenhagen School of Law and Governance at the Faculty of Law are:

  • 11 - 25 April for courses in the autumn semester
  • 18 October - 1 November for courses in the spring semester

  1. Find the course(s) you wish to follow in the course catalogue. You can follow all courses at master’s level except courses with "advanced" or “specialised" in the title, or courses where the content is consistent with courses you have previously followed.
  2. Submit the application form (Only open during application periods).
  3. Attach your bachelor's certificate, this is used to allocate courses.
  4. Attach proof of enrolment in cand.merc.jur. or cand.merc.pol. from Copenhagen Business School or MA in Political Science at UCPH.
  5. Inform the administration at your own faculty that you are taking courses at The Faculty of Law. Contact your own faculty for more information on this.

Application for School of Law and Governance

You will receive a reply to your application no later than:

  • 21 November for courses in the spring semester
  • 10 May for courses in the autumn semester

It is not possible to apply after the deadline. If you are refused, you can apply for courses the following semester, at the earliest. You can also apply as an ordinary credit student, for this you must upload a pre-approval for the courses you want to apply for.

If you have been given a place, it is not possible to exchange your course or class for another.
