CLIMA to Host the 13th European Environmental Law Forum Conference (EELF) in Copenhagen 2026
The Centre for Climate Change Law and Governance (CLIMA) at the University of Copenhagen is proud to announce that it will host the 13th European Environmental Law Forum (EELF) Conference from 26 to 28 August 2026.
This major event will bring leading scholars, policymakers, and practitioners together to explore the theme: “Climate Change Mitigation and EU Law: Towards a Just and Competitive Sustainable Transition.”
The announcement follows CLIMA’s active participation in the 12th EELF Conference, held at Ghent University from 10 to 12 September 2025. A CLIMA delegation - led by Beatriz Martinez Romera, Head of the Centre, alongside researchers Viktor Weber, Meng Zhang, and Sebastiano Gianino - engaged in vibrant discussions on pressing issues on climate adaptation and resilience.
The upcoming 2026 conference in Copenhagen will provide a platform to debate how EU law can drive climate action while balancing justice, competitiveness, and sustainability in the transition to a decarbonized future.
Further details, including the call for papers and programme updates, will be shared in due course.
Stay tuned as CLIMA prepares to welcome the EELF community to Copenhagen in 2026!
