13th EELF Conference 2026 - Call for Abstracts
The Centre for Climate Change Law and Governance (CLIMA) at the University of Copenhagen is pleased to host the 13th European Environmental Law Forum (EELF) Conference 2026, on 26–28 August 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The conference theme is “Climate Change Mitigation and EU Law: Towards a Just and Competitive Sustainable Transition.”
The conference will examine how EU climate law can steer a clean, just, and competitive transition toward climate neutrality in a context marked by geopolitical turbulence, shifting supply chains, trade tensions, inflationary shocks, and rapid technological disruption. We invite contributions that engage with new challenges for EU law in delivering effective climate mitigation while supporting fairness and competitiveness.
Participation is open to scholars and practitioners across disciplines and jurisdictions. We especially welcome contributions that connect EU climate mitigation law with broader questions of international cooperation, strategic autonomy, sustainable business and finance, competition and economic law, just transition, mitigation–adaptation interactions, circular economy, renewable energy transitions, hard-to-abate sectors (including shipping and aviation), and the Arctic.
If you wish to present your work, please send your submission by 10 April 2026 to Dr. Meng Zhang (mzh@jur.ku.dk).
