Andrea Tronci

Visiting Stay: March - September 2025

Andrea Tronci is a PhD fellow in Legal Sciences at the University of Cagliari. The doctoral dissertation investigates the role of administrative discretion in the new Italian public contracts code (d. lgs. 36/2023). Specifically, the research focuses on how the new public procurement regulations reshape the function of the principle of competition and, consequently, reconsider the role and powers of public administration as a contracting authority.

Throughout the academic career, multiple comments on civil and administrative judgments have been written. Recently, participation as a speaker at a conference on Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Law took place, where a paper was presented. This paper, currently being published, examines the relationship between the principle of transparency and administrative activities involving the use of artificial intelligence algorithms.

On November 10, 2020, the title of best graduate of the single-cycle degree courses at the Faculty of Economic, Legal, and Political Sciences of the University of Cagliari was awarded.
