EU Member States’ Compliance with their Environmental Obligations

In this seminar, Natálie will present her doctoral research, what she wants to accomplish and what initial findings she has managed to already come to. Her thesis explores the state of Member States’ compliance with their environmental obligations. It looks for reasons of non-compliance, investigates how the EU can enforce its law and proposes amendments to make the system more responsive, transparent and effective.
About the speaker
Natálie Polanská is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. She specializes in environmental and climate law in the EU and international perspectives. In the past two years, she has worked at the Infringement Unit at the Czech Ministry of the Environment. Currently, she works as a PhD researcher at the Department of Public Law and Sustainability at the Czech Academy of Sciences.
